MacLIVE

For 20 years, StarNet has been a leading provider of software to connect Windows PCs to Unix and Linux systems. A large number of engineers and other computer users now use Macintosh workstations.

The Mac's X11 client was not designed to easily connect to remote systems. StarNet has combined the Mac X11 client with our proven LIVE connectivity software to create the best possible remote X solution for the Mac platform. MacLIVE essentially brings VNC-like functionality to the Mac, but with many key performance and security advantages.

MacLIVE offers a simple graphics user interface to set up connections to remote Unix or Linux hosts. Once connected, the user simply clicks a variety of session types to display--GNOME, KDE or CDE desktops, even rootless windows in which to display individual remote X apps. With session configurations stored on the host, you can connect from any PC and access your remote X sessions.

Other key features:

Icon-Disaster Recovery
Disaster Recovery: MacLIVE offers the ability to reconnect to a session on a remote host after a system crash, network interruption, or power interruption.
Icon-Fastest Connections
Fastest Connections: Over slow Internet connections, MacLIVE sessions offer unmatched speed due to compression and uniquely streamlined protocol. Using WiFi or DSL connections, you can bring up full remote X desktops and essentially work at LAN speed remotely.
Icon-Session Mobility
The Ultimate in Session Mobility: MacLIVE allows users to suspend a LIVE Session on their office PC and resume it on another Mac, Windows or Linux computer.
Icon- Session Collaboration
Session Collaboration: MacLIVE sessions allow others to connect to a common LIVE Session. All participants of the shared session have keyboard and mouse control.
Icon-Text and Graphics Copy and Paste
Suspend/Resume: Users can suspend their MacLIVE sessions on the remote host at the end of a workday and resume it the next morning. The session continues to run in the background on the remote host.
